After a $7+ million dollar renovation, Tumbling River Ranch will be ready to welcome guests back in summer 2025. From the cabins and grounds to the main Lodge, the ranch will be refreshed with comfort and heritage in mind. As the ranch welcomes visitors year-round, new seasonal experiences will highlight the changing landscape, offering a deeper connection to the rhythms of the mountains.
No matter the time of year, you’ll enjoy an all-inclusive experience featuring three daily meals and a curated selection of activities—from peaceful moments by the river to guided hikes and evening campfires. For those seeking adventure, options like white-water rafting and rock climbing are available.
Tumbling River Ranch offers exceptional accommodations that blend history with modern comfort. Our charming cabins, many built in the 1940s, are undergoing thoughtful renovations to meet today’s standards, with updated bathrooms, new beds, and fresh decor. Most feature a cozy fireplace and a private porch where you can soak in the crisp mountain air. To honor the ranch’s rich heritage and minimize our environmental impact, we’re incorporating reuse and upcycling into the renovations. The cabins and lodges will continue to radiate warmth, preserving the personal touches and history that have made Tumbling River Ranch a beloved retreat for generations.

Charged with the early-to-rise spirit of Colorado’s cowboys, the energy of our retreat is authentic and luxuriant at once.
Tumbling River Ranch is located in Grant, Colorado, approximately 60 miles from Denver, 90 miles from Denver International Airport, and under 60 miles from the ski destination, Breckenridge. The ranch is located off of the famous Guanella Pass Road.
Most rooms are priced at double occupancy and include 3 meals per day, daily activities which vary by season. Rates do not include transportation to/from the ranch, alcoholic beverages, select activities and childcare.
Note: Included meals cover dinner on day of arrival through breakfast on day of departure.
Our accommodations vary from individual rooms to cabins providing a comfortable escape for a solo traveler, couples, families and groups of friends. Most accommodations are based on double occupancy. Some accommodations such as suites may be able to accommodate additional guests for an upcharge. Certain rooms can also be combined to allow families or groups of friends to reserve an entire building. Yes, we offer day and evening childcare options at an additional cost. During our peak summer season, daily kid’s club programming is included in the nightly rate for children 4 and older.
While we’re big animal lovers at the ranch, sadly we do not allow pets. The only exception is service animals covered by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
If you’re traveling from out of state it is best to fly into Denver International Airport, which is approximately 90 miles from the ranch. If you’d like to arrange an airport transfer through the ranch you can contact us after you’ve made your reservation to make this request. Alternatively, you can rent a car and drive to the ranch where you’ll find your way to US Hwy 285 S and eventually turn right on to Guanella Pass Road.
From within Colorado, Guanella Pass Road is off of US Hwy 285.
A car is not required during your stay, we will arrange all transportation for off-site activities. During ski season we will have a shuttle between Tumbling River Ranch and Breckenridge. If you’d like to take excursions off the ranch on your own, you might like having a car.
